Apparently, a week ago, the ship with the entire VOGUE Russia circulation, which is always printed in Finland was on its way to Russia. The ship, which was carrying 300,000 copies of the publication sank in the Golf of Finland.

I didn't really care to take a picture today...and right now there aren't as many appointments due to fashion week preps, and the craziness that follows it. 

Here is a list of what we're moving to today at Nouveau-PR.
I would have to say that Harrys Gym is one of my favorite new discoveries. Harrys Gym is a band based out of Norway with luscious vocals reminiscent of Blonde Redhead.
However, I feel like there needs to be some fashion reference on this blog post, so I'll leave it at this: If you miss Bruno Pieters, Simian Mobile Disco's "Nerve Salad," sounds something like what would be played at one of his shows. Enjoy...

I just saw this! What is THIS? THIS IS NOT FASHION! Those Eiffel Tower earrings are made from the cheap keychains that are sold all over Paris for 4 euros a piece. Anyone can easily purchase an Eiffel Tower keychain, or for that matter Eiffel Tower keychains in bulk and spray paint them!

Rather than show what someone is wearing in this post, I thought it might be interesting to show some of the inspiration behind one of my favorite design teams, A.F. Vandevorst.

German born artist, Joseph Beuys, who rarely removed his rabbit fur overcoat, which was part of his uniform, constantly worked with chalk boards, and felt as his fabric of choice. Aside from these materials, the same red cross that often appeared in Beuy's work, is the inspiration behind the red outline of a cross that A.F. Vandevorst uses as part of their logo.

Having lingerie as a component of the brand DNA, it seems quite organic for A.F. Vandevorst to have collaborated with Marie Jo's L'Aventure line of lingerie. For Spring/Summer 2011, A.F. Vandevorst created their line of lingerie out of what appears to be woolen felt, but is actually a print of woolen felt on a silk/polyamide/elastine blend.

Yesterday, Liz Stauber came in to pull for Sarah Ellison for Interview Magazine.

I kept looking at her because I could have sworn I had seen her face before and then an image of this preppy snot kept popping into my head. After intense questioning, I learned that prior to working with Sarah Ellison, she was working with Dean Voykovich...and prior to Dean, she was working as an actress.

She started to tell me about her work in "Almost Famous," but that wasn't it... 

We finally figured it all out...she played the arch-nemesis of Katie Holmes in "Teaching Mrs. Tingle," and she played Carolee, the daughter to the first foster family in the film "White Oleander."

I got way too excited over this and insisted she be on the blog. However,in the midst of all of the excitement, I forgot to ask what she was wearing...oh well.

Today's post is entitled "WHAT'S MICHAEL NEEDING?" because I NEED THIS SHIRT! What does it say? In cyrillic, it basically is Russian transliteration of English, saying "From Russia With Love," (in a really thick Russian accent since not everything translates directly - "FROM RASHA VIS LOVE"). Anyway...the tshirt is from Denis Simachev's A/W '07-'08 collection. This t-shirt is indeed a bit tacky, however, it is certainly a fun one!

I wore this cheap t-shirt into the office yesterday. I've always been drawn to those trite 1980s hair salon images that Patrick Nagel created. Perhaps, I'm drawn to the art-deco allusion, or maybe I'm drawn to his work because straight-did-up, I'm an 80's baby. Long-story-short, Cameron Cooper stopped in yesterday to pull for a shoot with OAKazine and let me in on a little fun fact on the farm: most of Nagel's prints were never copyrighted, which is why they're so often used as salon decor! Interesting, no?

I say purple dream because it almost looks like an old Veronique Branquinho dress. Today, my skinny black denim staple is completed by, first and foremost, something other than a pair of black boots (so it's kind of a monumental day). The personalized converse say "bitch" in cyrillic, pronounced: "SUKA" or "SOO-KA."  Maybe the red A.F. Vandevorst cross brought it out in me today, or the fact that certain stylists were caught being sneaky behind my back.

I look like complete spooge today, however, I couldn't help but snap a shot. I walked out this morning wearing Mandy's vest, as well as a Bernhard tee, which is a standard uniform for her. Aside from this being her typical attire, Bernhard to her, is like what Chanel is to me: porn. 

I figured at this point, all there was left to do was try and pose like the former model, cross leg, and looking sweet.

Leather vest: Mandy Coon, T-Shirt: Bernhard Willhelm (circa '02), and then black jeans, and black boots by G.F. Ferre (womp womp...kind of destroys it. I'll eventually break "my uniform" and start breaking out other shoes since the weather is starting to get nice again).

Today, I got all GQ'd up because a "SUPER IMPORTANT" GQ EDITOR was coming in for a press appointment. Wanted to assimilate to "the look."

What am I wearing? Vintage Christian Dior jacket, black jeans, and black boots (obviously), and curiously enough...the sweater, and button down are by an old GQ favorite. The name behind the sweater, and button down, I'm embarrassed to say.

That being said, I thought the chic thing to do today would be to delicately place a Siki Im hanger atop my head, and call it a day.
